Server virtualizations provides the means for organizations to make the most of their Information Technology investments especially in view of:

  • Increasing number of required applications and systems
As an organization grows, it will inevitably require additional applications/systems to support its growing operations.

  • Increased processing capacity and efficiency
Even  the most basic server hardware configuration would feature multiple processing units or multi-core processing capabilities. The minimum storage size found on any server has also greatly exceeded the minimum requirements of any single application. This in turn increases the amount of unutilised computing resources.

Server virtualization would break down a single physical server into two or more logical servers with a specific amount of processing and storage capacity.

This brings the added benefit of:

  • Less power consumption
  • Fewer physical storage consumption

As Server Virtualizations provides hardware abstraction to the servers, the individual servers can also be moved to any hardware platforms without reconfiguring the applications or the operating systems themselves. This greatly speeds up the implementation of hardware upgrades and also disaster recovery scenarios.

Acme supports the use of Server Virtualization for both Windows and Linux servers.
